My Story & Journey

I’m a UX designer with a mechanical engineering background and a master’s in User Experience Engineering from Goldsmiths, University of London. My work sits at the intersection of structure and intuition, where I design user centered experiences across e commerce, fintech, and branding. I work through research, wireframing, prototyping, and information architecture, and I have professional experience in both India and the UK. I move comfortably between systems thinking and human nuance.

Growing up, I did not have a clear idea of what I wanted to be. I chose mechanical engineering because I was drawn to mechatronics kits, dismantling objects, and rebuilding them. What I ended up with was often different from what I started with, sometimes better, sometimes just unexpected, but always instructive.

Mechanical engineering taught me that the field is not only about drawings, materials, or metalwork, but about integration, trade offs, and how complex systems come together. During this time, I began interacting with product designers who studied in the building opposite ours. Their world felt familiar, yet different. They dealt with many of the same constraints as engineers, but approached problems from another direction. The more I spoke with them, the more intrigued I became.

What troubled me was their strong focus on how things looked, often at the expense of how they worked. From an engineering mindset, I kept thinking that some of these designs would be frustrating to use, difficult to maintain, and hard to repair. That tension helped me realise that design must place the user at the center, and that products should be built to be understandable, usable, and maintainable over time. This realisation led me to UX, and ultimately to pursuing my master’s at Goldsmiths.
